What does the qualification cover?
This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs and communication and professional relationships.
It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Supporting Teaching.

What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 16 years old. It would also be beneficial for students to have basic IT skills and be fluent in the English Language.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Certificate requires 30 credits.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
This course is assessed by a series of assignments which are submitted to your tutor for marking. External assessment is required.
COURSE DURATION – Do you need to be working or volunteering to take the qualification?
Yes, you will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement, as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
This course will take approximately 320 hours to complete. During this course, you will also need to complete a recommended 100 placement hours. Students will receive a full year to complete the course, which is a lot more time than you will need. This allows you to work at your own pace, without the pressure of tight deadlines.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in 6 months online and 3 to 6 months (Classroom-based classes).

HOW DO I GET MY WORK ASSESSED?
You will send your work to your personal course tutor for them to mark and return to you. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded your Innovate Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
